Background:

Winmarleigh Church of England School was built in 1870 by Lord Winmarleigh to serve the local parish and families living in the surrounding area. A major building project has recently been undertaken which has provided the school with a new library, special support area, state of the art ICT facilities and disabled wheelchair access. The curriculum is enriched by lots of swimming lessons at Lancaster University, physical education (PE) lessons at Garstang Leisure Centre, residential weekends of outdoor adventure activities in the Lake District and full participation in small schools sports competitions. The school offers a range of sports including football, cricket, rounders, athletics and skittleball. The school'seeks to serve the local and wider community by offering children a caring and educationally rich learning environment in which to flourish as individuals and become increasingly valuable members of society.
