Single-form-entry school in centre of Wigan; new school formed by amalgamation of two existing schools in 1987; seven classrooms, each with interactive whiteboard; also computer suite, library, quiet room, design technology area, and school hall; lacks school field, but playgrounds enhanced by colourful football nets, basketball posts, and quiet seating areas. Football, High Five and tennis teams; also opportunity for judo, multiskills, cheerleading, and outdoor adventurous activities. Active choir; many local concerts; works closely with Wigan Performing Arts; offers free brass tuition to every Year 4 child ; others learn guitar, piano, keyboards, violin, oboe, and flute.
