Background:
Built in 1977, St John's is housed in a 'very well kept' building in a greenbelt area near the Last Drop village. The school offers before- and after-school care and a holiday care club. Sport is considered 'very important' at the school and is promoted through extra-curricular activities such as football, cricket, netball and rounders. The girls football team were recently the primary school league champions of Bolton. Other clubs include chess, drama and a young writer's club, while cubs, scouts and brownies also meet at the school. Pupils raise money for the Rescue Society, overseas development, the homeless and the NSPCC. There are 'close' links with the parish community, a 'large' number of parent helpers and a friends association.
