Background:
Our Lady's RC Primary School is a small, caring school situated in the heart of Moorside village and is sited next to Our Lady's Catholic Church. The school has four classes- two at Key Stage 1 and two at Key Stage 2. It is a group one school and being a small school means that mixed age groups are together in one class. It has a small school hall which is where the whole school assembles and where dinners are served and eaten. Currently physical education takes place in the church hall. It is a large floor area which is well screened off from the altar area of the church. It uses a mixture of teaching methods - class/group/individual - and it aim is to meet the needs and requirements of all the children and their different levels of ability and development. There are various extra-curricular activities including: football netball, basketball, cricket and cross-country.
