Background:

Westhead Lathom St James recently celebrated its 150 anniversary as a school at the heart of a village community. The school'strives towards excellence in all aspects of school life, nurturing each child to achieve their full potential in every aspect. Children are encouraged to use peripheral ICT equipment including digital camera/movie creator cameras and microscope to broaden their experience of the uses of information and communication technology (ICT). All children are encouraged to perform and to respond as a class, in a group and even individually. Sport is an important part of both curricular and out of school activities. Its aim is to introduce its children to traditional team games such as football, rugby, cricket and unihoc and netball. The school aims to provide a secure and stimulating environment, which promotes a love of learning and enables each child to develop to their full potential, academically, morally, physically, socially and spiritually.
