Background:

Hollins Technology College is a 11-16 comprehensive college. The school is committed to offering a curriculum, which is broad, balanced, relevant and motivational, appropriate to the needs of the individual. The specialist school status has not only provided considerable additional facilities and opportunities in the areas of mathematics, science, design technology and information and communication technology, but right across the school in all curriculum areas. The Hollins offers a number of clubs on a regular basis, ranging from art and drama, to sporting and technology based activities. Concerts and charitable events allow many of their students to demonstrate skills and interests that can be pursued in adulthood. The school is proud of its record of outstanding success in sport. Basketball, cricket, football and netball teams have all competed successfully with local schools over many years. This school also provides educational visits both locally and internationally to enhance the curriculum and give opportunities for active learning.
