Background:
At the start of the century there was a mission Church in Edge Lane led by Rev J T Ormerod called St Annes Rev Ormerod commissioned the well-known architect Temple Moore to build a school for the Church. Moore was well known for his skillful Design of Church buildings. The new school building was started by Moore in 1914 and was completed 2 years later as an all age school. The Infant building was started in 1933. By this time Temple Moore had died but his Son in law Leslie Moore who was a partner in the same firm of architect undertook the Design of the Infants School. The Infant building has always been a school for children in there early Years of education but until 1967 the junior school building was a secondary school. In 1968 it was decided to establish St Annes as a primary school and the two buildings were combined.
