Background:
New Longton All Saints' Church of England Primary School is a voluntary aided school in the Diocese of Blackburn. The school was born of the Church in New Longton; the links between them are historical and deep. At New Longton All Saints' Church of England Primary School, it encourages children to use the computer as an integrated part of the curriculum to enhance and develop classroom activities. Art and design stimulates creativity and imagination. The teaching of music develops pupils' ability to listen and appreciate a wide variety of music and to make judgements about musical quality. Pupils listen to a wide range of music, play musical instruments, sing a variety of songs, develop their own compositions and listen to a variety of music from different times and cultures where they explore their thoughts and feelings. At lunchtimes and after school, teachers give up time to organise various clubs. Parents are encouraged to help with some clubs. "The school aim is to develop mutual respect and responsibility for all members of its school community." .
