Holy Cross is a Catholic comprehensive serving the town of Chorley and the surrounding rural areas. It was formed in 1973 through the amalgamation of two single-sex schools which occupied the same site in the southwest of the town. It describes itself as 'a school based on gospel values, striving constantly in partnership with parents to achieve the highest standards'. The school values all pupils as individuals and seek to help them grow and develop within a caring and supportive Christian environment'.
