Background:

Edisford Primary School is a primary and nursery school for boys and girls. The age range of the pupils is three to 11. It is located in the market town of Clitheroe in the beautiful Ribble Valley. The school was built in 1953 and serves the whole of Clitheroe. It has excellent facilities with a large and well-equipped hall, which is used, for physical education and productions. The school extended its provision in 2000 with a new library area and in 2001 fitted a computer suite. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include football, netball, cricket, rounders, gymnastics, athletics, dance, cycling, art, drama and science. The school aims to provide a stimulating environment where children enjoy learning.
