Background:

St Theodore's Catholic Sports College and Sixth Form is a secondary school and sixth form for boys. The age range of the pupils is 11 to 18. It was opened in 1961 to provide a Catholic education for boys in Burnley and the surrounding districts. The school is accommodated in two main buildings and a purpose-built sixth form centre. There is a newly refurbished library with an electronic identification system, two ICT rooms with broadband internet and intranet facilities and a new reception area in junior building. The English, mathematics, science and physical education departments have access to their own ICT facilities within a suite of rooms. There are newly refurbished specialist rooms for art, careers, special educational needs and dining facilities in the senior building. The entrance to the sixth form centre has recently been refurbished with several teaching rooms. The school offers a wide range of clubs and activities outside lesson time. These activities include football, rugby, basketball, cricket, tennis, and athletics. The school aims to foster the Catholic faith in the school community and to value the integrity of all pupils while developing fully their human potential.
