Holland Moor Primary School opened in 1976. It was originally an open plan design, but has since converted to closed classrooms. The buildings are 'attractive and carefully maintained'. The grounds are 'well used' by the school and also by the local commmunity, including a joint playground with the local council. The school encourages pupils to raise money for charity by holding a fundraising event each term, and the school enjoys 'close links' with the local community. The school offers a range of extra-curricular activities and clubs, which include football, basketball, netball, homework, swimming, cookery, recorders and judo, among others.
