Background:
St Paul's is situated on the outskirts of Blackburn in the Diocese of Salford, where it has been since 1973 when it replaced St Mary and St John the Baptist School, which was in Pleasington. The 'traditional seventies style' school is a single-storey building which has been extended and improved in recent years. The school is a one-form entry school. Pupils participate in the usual range of after-school clubs including football, netball, cricket, French and Spanish. Year 6 pupils benefit from attending the after-school study support centre at Blackburn Rovers Football Club. Pupils are encouraged to think of those less fortunate than themselves and money is raised for a number of charities. The school is committed to the moral, social and spiritual educational development of its pupils in a Catholic atmosphere through the full participation and cooperation of teachers, staff, parents and parish.
