Background:
St Edmund's was founded in 1974 and is housed in a single storey building, which is partly open-plan. The locality is semi-urban and a playground and playing fields are also located on site. Sports teams participate in inter-school leagues and pupils raise funds for local, diocesan and national charities. 'Good links' with the parish, and local schools, services and businesses have been established. Pupils have in the past benefitted from communications with British forces in Bosnia-Hercegovina. A teacher acts as the special educational needs (SEN) co-ordinator, and is involved in liaising with teachers, parents, pupils and external agencies to make sure that children's needs are met.
