Background:

Hey-with-Zion is a voluntary controlled primary school with a joint Church of England and Methodist Foundation. The school is situated close to the centre of Lees, Oldham, sharing the same pleasant site as St Edward's Roman Catholic Primary School. The school was built in 1978 as an open plan school, but has since had alterations to provide a mixture of shared teaching areas and closed plan classrooms suitable to meet the modern demands of teaching and learning. This includes a computer suite and craft areas as well as good outdoor facilities such as an all-weather pitch, field and playground. The school encourages a broad involvement in school life and enjoy successes when teams enter general knowledge quizzes, choral festivals, sporting leagues and tournaments. It has a variety of clubs and teams that cover a range of sports and interests. These include football, cricket, basketball, computer club and a dance club. The school aims to offer a happy, safe and secure environment in which its children are well motivated and achieve highly.
