Background:
Beaumont, situated in a pleasant suburban residential area, is in the West of Bolton on the edge of the Ladybridge Estate. The school is a single form entry with approximately 210 places. It is housed in a modified open plan building with extensive grounds affording spacious playing areas plus a Wildlife Garden, which we share with our neighbouring Catholic School. In 2001, the school was awarded the prestigious Investors in People award. The school is heavily over subscribed for a number of years. The school comprises seven classrooms, a storage room, two quite large withdrawal-teaching areas and one smaller withdrawal teaching area used primarily for Special Needs. It also possesses an ICT suite, which is situated in Key Stage 2 contains 16 PCs. Each Key Stage 1 class has two PC's situated in the classroom and further PC's are situated in the Special Needs and withdrawal areas. The school also has an outdoor reception/KS1 play area, a large well-equipped hall, used on a daily basis for assemblies, dinners, PE and after school clubs. The school also offers a variety of extra curricular activities including, cross-country, cricket, football and rounders.
