There is also a playground and playing field with an ideal sledging track for the winter months. The school offers many extra-curricular activities including internet, science, netball, football and choral speaking. It also participates in other inter-school competitions such as cross-country, rounders and swimming. Activity holidays are organised in the Lake District and at Whitehough activity centre in Burnley. The school has links with St John with St Michael Church which it attends each term for special celebrations.
