Bretherton Endowed Primary School Church of England Voluntary Aided School is a small primary school situated in the heart of the established village community. The school founded in 1653 by James Fletcher, London merchant. He also endowed the school. It is proud of its tradition and of the achievements of the past, but it is also a modern school looking to the future and seeking to provide its children with a sound and forward looking education. The school provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities including netball, football, tennis, cross-country and skittleball to enhance the learning of pupils.
