Background:

The school is situated in beautiful countryside, around three miles from Lancaster. It is fortunate to be surrounded by rolling hills, and in the shadow of Clougha. The school has a wireless network of laptops, enabling all classes to enjoy the benefits of a wide and varied curriculum. Additionally 'Smart Board' technology is used for increased interactivity across the curriculum. By the time the children reach year six, they have had the opportunity to develop a wide range of ICT skills, including Powerpoint Presentations, Animations and Desktop Publishing. Children are given opportunities to explore, develop and control body movement in six main areas of physical education, gymnastics, games, dance and drama, swimming, outdoor pursuits and athletic activities. The school hall is used for P.E. and is fortunate to have sophisticated apparatus specifically designed for children of primary school age. Rounders, cricket, football, skittle ball and athletics take place on the playing fields close to the school. The main aim of the school is to enable the children to develop their potential, not only intellectually, but also socially, morally, physically and aesthetically.
