Background:
Lytham St Annes High Technology College is the largest school in Lancashire, sited in 14 acres of ground. It was opened in 1955 as Andsell Secondary Modern and became a comprehensive in 1978. The school has seven tennis courts and a new, floodlit, all-weather hockey pitch. The school aims to inspire an enthusiasm for learning, in a calm, purposeful, secure environment. Its sports committee, which is subdivided into different groups, offers a wide range of sporting opportunity at both recreational and competitive levels. The school aim is to prepare its pupils for adult life in a rapidly changing, technologically advanced society.
