Background:

Glenburn High School is located near to Skelmersdale town centre and easy access to provided via several bus routes, which pass close to the site. The college is set in its own extensive playing fields and they are swimming baths on the site. College and year teams take part in soccer, rugby, netball, basketball, cricket, and tennis, athletics, cross-country, orienteering and rounders competitions. West Lancashire championships have been won in rounders, netball, badminton, cross-country, basketball, athletics, and soccer. Students at Glenburn have access to a great variety of extra-curricular activities which broaden personal interests extend the scope of the curriculum. Students have also been involved in Youth challenges in ten-pin bowling, in driving courses, in horse riding, and on residentials in the Lake District, Yorkshire and in Wales. The school is committed to providing the highest quality education possible for all of the students by building a learning community in which both students and staff can develop to their full potential.
