Background:

Walton High School is a six-form entry, 11 to 16 comprehensive school situated in the Marsden Ward of the borough of Pendle. The school is a happy and purposeful community. All teaching subjects are taught in specialist rooms ' these are well equipped to support students' learning. The school has made improvements, and in particular has invested in information and communication technology. As a result, the school has excellent information and communication technology facilities in two networked rooms, in the learning resource centre, in mathematics, design and technology and careers room. The school provides a broad-based programme of studies which gives all students the opportunity to develop their abilities, skills and aptitudes to achieve their full potential. In Key Stage 3, all students follow a common curriculum which includes English, science, French or German, geography, music, drama, information technology, mathematics, technology, history, religious education, art, physical education, personal, social and health education.
