Background:
Carnforth High School was established in 1973 as an 11 to 16 mixed comprehensive school. The school enjoys an attractive rural site on the outskirts of Carnforth. Modern and well-maintained school buildings are set within 12 acres of superb playing fields. These provide facilities for hockey, rugby, football, cricket, rounders and athletics, plus an all-weather pitch, netball and tennis courts and facilities for golf and other sports. There is an extensive range of computers and software, which is constantly being updated and is in use throughout the school. The school has upgraded all information technology facilities. It also encourages its pupils to develop out of school activities. Pupils are regularly involved in raising money for charity and there is also work with senior citizens within the local community. Very popular trips are run every year to France and Germany. The school aims to create an environment that encourages curiosity, enquiry and a love of learning.
