Founded in 1973; serves housing estate near centre of Lytham, on the Lancashire coast; occupies 'well-planned building' in extensive grounds, which include woodland area and memorial garden. In addition to National Curriculum subjects, French is available to Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. 'The pursuit of academic excellence is balanced with exceptional achievement and opportunity in music, drama and sport'. Known for quality of singing throughout the area; choir performed at Queen's Jubilee Gala in Blackpool; specialist teachers for violin, brass and woodwind. Extra-curricular activities include fun fit, art, games clubs, choir, and Saturday-morning sports club run by staff and parents; new computer suite, also used for extra-curricular computer club. Commitment to charity fundraising. Two after-school clubs operate every afternoon; before-school care, from 8am; after-school care, until 6pm. Over-subscribed, with 1.3 applications per place.
