Background:
Lostock Primary was built in 1974 and celebrated its silver jubilee in May 2000. It is housed in a one-storey building with two playgrounds in large grounds with a small newly planted wood and football pitch. Situated in mainly owner-occupied housing and wooded areas and fields, the school is only five minutes from Junction 5 of the M61. Sporting and musical extra-curricular activities include a choir, percussion, recorder, cross-country, rounders, cricket, football, and netball. Voice, brass, violin and keyboard tuition are also offered, and there is a chess club. The school aims to provide a caring community where everyone can realise their full potential.
