Background:
Littleborough Central Board School was opened in 1903. The school educated generations of Littleborough residents and has been, in its time, a secondary school, a separate infant and junior school and a primary school. After evaluating the huge expense of repairing the fabric of the school, Littleborough County Primary moved into its new premises on Calderbrook Road in September 1994. Facilities now include a fully equipped stage, library, computer suite, music rooms, tennis courts, sports hall, gymnasium, leisure centre, and fully disabled access with a lift. In addition the school offers pottery kilns, photographic dark rooms and squash courts. Extra-curricular activities offered include netball, recorders, football, water sports, cricket, rounders, brass band, computer club, drama, athletics, trampoline, pottery and animal club. The school aims to be a place which is exciting and stimulating, stable and secure.
