Founded in 1959, the school is set in attractive rural campus; serves wide geographical area; offers full national curriculum and 'outstanding' ICT facilities. Sepcialist language college status from September 1996; includes French, German, Spanish in the curriculum, with Japanese and Russian as extra classes. All major sports are well represented, with netball, football, athletics, tennis, cross-country, cricket and ski teams. Tradition of music making; guitar ensemble, brass ensemble, woodwind and jazz groups, band and choirs. Extra-curricular activities include dance club, table tennis, gym club, self-defence, outdoor pursuits, computers, mathematics, chess, 'homestudy clinics', theatre visits and language clubs. Students have the opportunity to take part in residential visits and exchanges. Local community, including businesses, benefit from school's international links and ICT facilities. As a Christian college, it is committed to service; resources and expertise widely used by primary schools and wider community.
