Bamford is a pilot school for the Primary Citizenship and Internet Project. There are a range of extra-curricular activities, including sports, which benefit from the facilities available. These include a football pitch, cricket square, two rounders pitches, three hard surface playing areas and a hall with a wooden floor. Other clubs and groups include art and book club, choir, recorders and nursery rhyme club. The school was runner-up in the National Art Gallery Competition in 1998.
